£5,443 - £5,552 per annum (Scale C)

11.15 hours per week (Tuesday and Thursday mornings)

Fixed term contract until 31 March 2022 in the first instance


Norfolk Library and Information Service provide library services to the three prisons in the county. We are looking for a part time Library Assistant to work at Bure Prison.

Libraries are safe and welcoming public spaces used by people of all ages, backgrounds, experience and abilities. Libraries and library workers make a real difference.

Prison Library staff have a real opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives inside the prison. So, if you are confident working with a wide range of people, can follow the establishments rules and feel confident in your ability to work with socially excluded customers, can work on your own as well as part of a team delivering library services, you could be the person we are looking for.

The current working hours and days of the post are: Tuesday 7.45 hours, Thursday morning 3.5 hours.

You will receive both library and prison service training and will also need to have a continuing full security clearance to work in the prison.

 

Interviews and tests will be held on 13th and 20th December at HMP Bure.
