Fixed term contract until June 2023 in the first instance.

There is potential for extension if further external funding is secured.

 

This exciting and broad ranging role will work on a high-profile, EU tourism project delivered by Norfolk County Council’s Environment Service.

EXPERIENCE (Experiential tourism to extend the season) focuses on sustainable development and enhancement of Norfolk’s natural and cultural tourism assets. Norfolk County Council is the Lead Partner of this flagship project, collaborating with 13 Partners across France and England with a total value of €23.3 million.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional aspiring to play a central role in this exciting new project. The Project Officer will lead on day-to-day operational duties, working closely with the EXPERIENCE Project Manager and delivery team to track and monitor project progress against delivery, financial and resource targets. You will work with high value and complex budgets and ensure compliance with funding regulations and guidelines. Key aspects of this role will include coordinating collection of data and evidence required to prepare detailed financial claims and progress reports.

The Project Officer will also oversee procurement and contract procedures and will work with the project team to establish, implement and maintain systems and procedures for the control and delivery of this important project. You will identify risks and issues, recommending control measures and mitigation actions as required to inform management decision-making. Working with the Assistant Project Officer, you will manage project documentation to ensure that the storage, retrieval, disposal and management of all project information is compliant with agreed policies and standards.

You must be comfortable working with figures and have a strong eye for detail. A flexible approach to collaborative working and a calm and positive approach to problem-solving is desirable.

EXPERIENCE project funding is supplied by the Interreg France (Channel) England Programme, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
