Countywide placements

£29,055 - £30,756 per annum (Scale I)
37 hours per week
Permanent contract

Have you just qualified and looking to start your career in social work, or qualified and had time out from practice?

Our Norfolk Institute for Practice Excellence (NIPE) is an innovative team within Adult Social Services supporting newly qualified social workers and social workers looking to return to practice with a structure programme of development.

Our successful NIPE programme is looking to recruit the next cohort to join the team starting March 2019.

The team is primarily for newly qualified social workers, although consideration will be given to highly motivated, experienced social workers who have had a period of time out of front line social work with Adults or with no experience of statutory social work in the adult social care sector.

If you are an experienced Social Worker looking to update your skills the programme will be tailored to your needs. Our team will support you to complete your ASYE and excel in your first year of practice. You will be given a comprehensive induction course, a planned work load which takes into consideration individual learning needs and provides experiences to both broaden and deepen your knowledge and expertise.

You will be given the opportunity to work across a range of Norfolk’s Adult Social Services Departments which includes learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health and older people.

After six months, and subject to satisfactory progress, you will be supported to move to a vacancy in one of our operational teams with ongoing support to complete your ASYE and to develop you as a social worker.

The Adult NIPE is an exciting and innovative team based in Adult Social Services at County Hall. If successful in your application to join the team, you will be part of a small, supportive team led by a Team Manager and two Practice Consultants who are focussed on you excelling and passing your ASYE.

You will be offered a permanent contract following successful completion of the probationary period and the ASYE.

To be eligible to apply for this cohort in the Norfolk Institute for Practice Excellence you should have qualified or will have qualified as a Social Worker before starting in March 2019 and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

For an informal discussion regarding this vacancy please contact Andrew Smith (NIPE Team Manager), Caroline Bowman (NIPE Practice Consultant) or Marie Smith (NIPE Practice Consultant) on 01603 222525.

We welcome applications from individuals currently working in other organisations, however we would like to make you aware that priority consideration for this post may be given to current employees who are affected by restructure within the organisation or are in a redeployment position.
